First Post, Yay!

Just thought I'd post a few informative articles that I came across having to do with technology. I'm glad I live here in the US where we can blog freely Yipee! :)

Eeek... I wasn't able to view the Egyptian inmate but the Youtube article I would have to agree with. I would think that censorship of the internet would be similar or the same as censorship of TV, and music. Especially at schools!

Internet and tech stuff can be a wonderful thing, but just as every other wonderful thing it will be corrupted.

Tough stuff...

It is almost only in the United States (at least in the West) that one is able to stand (or sit) in almost any forum and openly criticize the powers that be. That would be our first amendment rights at work.

Many U.S. citizens use that right to accuse our leaders, while remaining silent about such atrocities that occur under other governments. With every freedom comes responsibility.

Thanks for posting these articles, Eric. As I write this (from the Kansas City airport) I am getting ready to board a plane to Chile, a place where I lived for a number of years where such atrocities took place. I witnessed the transition from little or no freedom, but lot's of (for non-dissenters, anyway) security. Being safe is a good thing, but there is a price that must be paid. That whole continuum (freedom vs. security) is a huge issue here as well. There are those who would sacrifice freedom for security (Cf. the current season of Fox Network's 24).

Life is uncertain. My hope rests, not in human structures, but in the LORD. Thanks for posting this, Eric.
